What does waxing do?

Waxing is a hair removal process that uses warm wax that can be hard or soft, to remove unwanted hair from the root. This process results in finer, softer hair, regrowth reduction, and smooth skin for 3-4 weeks.

How often should you wax?

Facial services: 2-4 weeks

Bikini services: 3-4 weeks

Body services: 4-6 weeks

(Frequency may differ depending on how quickly your hair grows back)

How long does waxing last?

With proper aftercare, your skin could be completely hair free for about 2 weeks before you start to see regrowth and will improve with consistency.

What is the difference between the Bikini Line, Full Bikini, and Brazilian service?

The Bikini Line removes exactly that! Whatever hair may show outside of a swimsuit, usually including the groin and top of the pubic area.

The Full Bikini includes the Bikini Line, and as much or as little as you'd like to remove off the front.

(Does not include butt strip)

The Brazilian services includes the Full Bikini as well as the butt strip, aka the booty crack.

What do I wear for my Brazilian service?

Comfy clothes that are easy to get out of! Loungewear, sweat pants, loose fitted joggers. It's best to avoid lacy underwear, at least for the first 24 hours. Cotton underwear is best!

How long does the hair have to be for a wax?

Ideally, it is recommended to allow for 3-4 weeks of hair growth for best waxing results!

What is a 'hydrojelly mask?'

A hydrojelly mask is an add-on option for a handful of services to take your waxing experience to the next level! It's a powdered mask that's applied over freshly waxed skin to alleviate various skin concerns such as ingrown hairs/breakouts, redness and inflammation, hyperpigmentation, dry skin, acne scars, sensitive skin, clogged pores, and elasticity. I recommend for nervous, first time Brazilian clients to take advantage of the hydrojelly masks!

What does a typical aftercare routine look like?

The basics of post wax aftercare can be broken down into 5 easy steps!

1. Use the Fur Oil on a daily basis to keep the hair and skin moisturized. Best to use post shower. For larger body areas, mix some drops of Fur Oil into your favorite lotion for extra hydration.

2. Exfoliate by dry brushing or using the Silk Scrub 3x per week maximum. Dry brush BEFORE the shower, Silk Scrub IN the shower.

3. Use a non pore clogging lotion on the rest of the body avoiding the bikini area. Hempz is a great example, and they have a sensitive skin line!

4. Make sure to stay hydrated! Believe it or not, your wax specialist can tell if you're dehydrated just by your hair growth! Although we're ultimately removing the hair, staying hydrated prevents hair breakage and dry skin.

5. STAY CONSISTENT. Consistency reduces the amount of ingrowns by keeping the hair regrowth to a minimum, and your services will hurt less.

Can I still get waxed if I'm pregnant?

Absolutely! Waxing is totally safe if you're expecting, whether you're getting a bikini wax or waxing somewhere else on the body. For bikini services, pain may be enhanced due to increased blood flow to the area. In that case, a bit more time and care is taken to ensure your comfortability.

Does waxing hurt?

Everyone's pain threshold is different. Waxing does include some pain since we are removing hair, but nothing you couldn't handle! It's more uncomfortable than painful. Usually, the first time hurts the most according to your tolerance. Each appointment after that gets easier! No one has ever cried, screamed, or ran away from their service if that helps.

How can I prepare for my Brazilian service?

Come freshly showered if you're able to, do not trim the hair, wear comfortable, loose fitted clothes, avoid coffee (it can thin out the blood).

Do you use hard wax or soft wax?

I use a hypoallergenic, vegan, fragrance free hard wax by Dermwax for all of my services! 

What forms of payment do you take?

I accept cash, card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Zelle, and Venmo.

Are you appointment only or do you accept walk-ins?

I am by appointment only, however clients are able to schedule same day appointments through my booking app, Gloss Genius! Simply put yourself on a waitlist with your preferred time (or you can put any time) and I'll squeeze you in where you fit!

Do you offer Brazilians for men?

Any bikini or 'under the underwear' services offered at Bare Wax Studio is strictly for women only.
